Joel Embiid received a full scholarship

On October 12, 2012, Joel Embiid received a full scholarship from the university of Kansas and an invitation to join the basketball team. On October 26, Joel Embiid received a full scholarship from the university of Florida and an invitation to join the basketball team NBA MT Coins. On October 6, Joel Embiid received a full scholarship from the university of Texas and an invitation to join the basketball team. On November 13, Joel Embiid announced that he had chosen the university of Kansas. On April 13, 2013, Embiid was invited to participate in Jordan's elite competition, representing the west troops against the east. On April 20, 2013, Embiid was invited to participate in the Nike youth basketball competition, representing the international team against team USA.

On May 1, 2013, Joel Embiid ranked no. 6 and center position no. 1 in the 100 players who graduated from ESPN high school. In 2013, Joel Embiid went to the university of Kansas, where he was the first small forward in 2013, Andrew Wiggins, and point guard Wayne Selden. In the first eight games, Joel Embiid didn't start, but came on as a substitute. Then, Kansas coach Bill Selfe decided to replace the former starting center Tarik Black with Embiid. On December 14, Joel Embiid scored a career-high 18 points on behalf of Kansas against the university of new Mexico.
